Fortuna Engineering

Flowcrete India has supplied the engine connecting rod manufacturer Fortuna Engineering with a high-performance floor finish able to withstand the site’s challenging industrial conditions.

Fortuna Engineering is one of India’s top producers of connecting rods and camshafts and its facility meets the ISO TS-16949 standard. The quality of its products is further illustrated by its client list, which includes Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra and Ashok Leyland.

Fortuna Engineering knew that each component of its Nashik based facility would have to be tailored to the task at hand – including its floor area. This was particularly important in the production area, which would face a multitude of challenges, including impacts, heavy loads, exposure to corrosive industrial oils and greases, frequent traffic from staff and wheeled equipment, point loading and cleaning.

To ensure that the floor would maintain a high-performance finish, 4,000 m² of the self-smoothing, antibacterial, polyurethane system Flowfresh SL was applied throughout the production space. A sleek, contemporary grey was chosen for the main floor area and bright red was used to create clearly visible paths around the room to help staff and visitors safely navigate the space.

The abrasion and impact resistance of Flowfresh SL was ideal for Fortuna Engineering’s needs and meant that the automotive parts manufacturer could rest assured that the floor finish underfoot would provide a reliable, colourful and safe surface for the long term.

The flooring project took three months to complete and was ready in time for the site to commence full production on schedule.
