Flowcrete India recently collaborated with the Hi-Lex Corporation to provide a hardwearing flooring system for its production facility in Chennai.

HI-LEX India Private Ltd is a subsidiary company of HI-LEX Corporation Japan and manufactures control cables, transmission cables and window regulators across the world.

The client required a robust yet attractive flooring system that would stand up to the rigours of daily foot and wheeled traffic in its facility, yet still remain aesthetically attractive.

Flowcrete and its licensed applicator had to work to a tight installation deadline and completed the first phase of application within a ten-day window

As the first floor of the building was not flat enough to receive any topping, Flowcrete recommended that a 2mm thick epoxy underlay be applied with a 1mm epoxy topping.

Flowprime, the solvent free high performance epoxy primer for concrete was applied across the entire 12,000sqm production area of the facility, as well as Flowshield SL 1000, the self smoothing epoxy-based floor coating.

6,000sqm of the hygienic, self-smoothing epoxy resin industrial floor underlay Flowshield SL UL was also applied across the first floor of the manufacturing plant to provide an attractive, seamless system for the facility.

The entire process took just 40 days to complete and the client was thrilled with the end result and its brand new attractive and durable factory flooring system.
