One of India’s largest pharmaceutical plants enhanced its site by installing an ultra-hygienic resin coating over its aging concrete floor.

The warehouse floor of Abbott Healthcare’s state-of-the-art, Baddi based manufacturing facility was deteriorating, with continuous trolley movement causing considerable dusting. The impacts of the trolley wheels were also breaking the floor movement joints and damaging the substrate.

To rectify the dusting 3,000m² of Flowfresh MF from Flowcrete India was installed in a 3mm thick system and 2,000m² of Flowfresh Coating was applied under the warehouse stacker, all within a four week period. Due to the inherent strength and resilience of Flowfresh it created a protective, seamless barrier to stop further damage to the concrete substrate.

Flowfresh MF is a polyurethane resin floor finish designed to be non-dusting and non-tainting as well as highly resistant to chemicals, impacts and abrasions. It is also specifically formulated to maintain a highly hygienic environment as it is easy to clean and includes the Polygiene® antimicrobial agent which eliminates 99% of bacteria on the floor’s surface.

The Baddi plant is central to Abbott Healthcare’s 7% market share, producing approximately 180 different products, and now the floor at the medicinal provider matches the modern technology and superior capabilities of the facility.
