Looking for an easily cleaned and maintainable surface material combined with good all round resistance to medium duty traffic and occasional chemical attack, Exedy India opted for over 40,000 square metres of Flowcrete India’s performance epoxy coating system, Flowshield SL 1000, to provide a seamless surface across its central production hall.
Flowshield SL 1000 is a thin, self-smoothing coating system, applied at just 1mm thickness, designed for dry processing areas subject to foot, trolley, pallet truck and rubber wheeled forklift truck traffic. The system is particularly popular with clients working in the automotive, pharmaceutical and printing industries. For clients working in the electronics sector, an antistatic grade is also available.
The system is available in a range of bold and welcoming colours as standard, with Exedy India opting for a tailor-made vibrant green shade to brighten the production environment and colour match to brand requirements.
At Exedy India, a second roller-coat epoxy coating system, Flowcoat SF41, was installed in back-of-house operational areas.
As both systems were installed onto newly laid concrete, it was critical to ensure that any residual moisture had reduced to less 5% before the 95 day installation process could begin.
