New Chennai Warehouse

Flowcrete India is proud to announce the opening of its first pan-Indian warehouse in Mannur Village, Chennai, which has been built to enhance Flowcrete and the Euclid Chemical Company’s presence within the nation’s construction industry.

The 21,600 sq. ft. warehouse came into operation in November 2015 and has been  supporting the resin flooring specialist’s strong network of applicators and offices across Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and Mumbai.

The increased amount of space that this warehouse provides for storage means that Flowcrete India is able to stock more materials ready for use, which subsequently cuts down on the production time and decreases the lead time for clients.

This enhanced capacity has become especially critical recently, as Flowcrete India has upscaled production and added a number of new systems to match an increasing demand for its products. It also allows the Euclid Chemical Company to effectively introduce its systems to the market, as its vast product range means that a lot of space is needed to store all the raw materials and packaging required. 

The convenient location of the new state-of-the-art distribution facility, next to Flowcrete India’s current manufacturing site, allows the company to ensure that a cost-efficient logistics structure is in place to handle the anticipated increase in product volume.

This ground-breaking move is indicative of the resin flooring manufacturer’s determined, pan-Indian growth strategy and how the quickly developing business is penetrating into new markets along with promotions in Tier 2 cities. Commenting on the opening, the Managing Director of Flowcrete India, Mr Vivekanandan Margasahayam, said: “The new warehouse will decongest the present production facility and will improve the capacity utilisation of the existing Flowcrete India manufacturing plant, particularly in stocking the finished goods. This will help to significantly streamline our production and supply process at a time when demand is rapidly growing.

“Euclid Chemical’s range of construction chemical products warrants a larger storage facility due to the variety of raw materials used in the production process. Hence, the new warehouse is located very close to the existing production site to provide better logistical support to the Flowcrete facility.

“Our customers depend on the timely delivery of our products, since the lead time for completing a flooring project out of the overall construction is minimal, and with the new warehouse we can build on our already strong logistics foundation so that we can not only better support our current customers, but can expand our business with a new customer base for the future.”

Flowcrete India’s new facility includes an open yard of 24,000 sq. ft. for parking and moving vehicles, with platforms for loading and unloading products. Four new members of staff were hired to maintain the stock of raw materials and the warehouse interior was designed with dedicated storage racks for particular products and specialist equipment to move materials around the site.
