Having over 40 years of experience in the industry, Lucky Yarn Tex knew that the floor in its newest facility would need to provide a number of operational requirements while being able to withstand the challenges of large-scale textile manufacturing. For example, the floor would have to maintain an unblemished finish despite point loading from heavy equipment, frequent traffic, regular cleaning as well as exposure to industrial chemicals and substances.
To achieve a seamless, colourful surface for the long term, 1,830 m2 of the self-smoothing polyurethane resin floor finish Flowfresh SL was applied in a 3mm coating throughout the processing area. The hard-wearing nature of Flowfresh SL makes it ideal for busy production sites and its smooth, seamless application means that it can be quickly and easily cleaned.
Lucky Yarn Tex also took advantage of Flowfresh SL’s extensive colour palette to create a bright and safe floor area. A sleek, light grey was used for the main production space while a bold blue was chosen for the pedestrian routes through the building with vivid yellow lines applied to mark the border between the two colours. This design clearly shows the pathways around the equipment, helping to keep staff and visitors safe onsite.
The flooring project was completed to a high standard within the seven-day time frame, helping to ensure that the site was up and running on schedule.
